One of the principal activities of the Chartered Surveyors’ Company is to promote and assist with the education of young people:
“Within the resources of the Company and its individual members to promote the pursuit of excellence within the profession; to increase the awareness within the City of the role of Chartered Surveyors and help individuals with entry into the profession”.
The Education Committee stewards and coordinates a number of initiatives which the Company has created in the area of education. These include the Livery’s City Seminar, Schools’ Initiative, Toby Sutton Award and the Competitive Annual Award to students of the Guildhall School of Music, coupled with further education bursaries, mentoring and work experience opportunities.
The Company has fostered strong relationships with a number of schools – promoting careers in the property profession and an understanding of the workings of the City of London – but in particular four inner London schools: Robert Clack School, St Saviour’s & St Olave’s School, Archbishop Tenison’s School, and Central Foundation Girls’ School.
