The Company has entered a team in the forthcoming Inter-Livery Tennis Competition which will be held at Queen's Club on Thursday 16 September 2010. The requirements are two mixed pairs, of which one person in each pair should ideally be a Liveryman. The competition is run as an American tournament with quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final with prizes for the winners and a knock-out Plate Competition for first round group losers.
The competition starts at 11.00am and the cost per person is £150 including lunch and supper with wine afterwards at Queen's Club. The competition is intended to be non-gladiatorial and it is hoped that those Liverymen who are not partnered by their spouses will be partnered by friends and not international tennis players!
The Company has entered a team in this event for several years with some success and although it is likely that the usual Liverymen will volunteer to play, the Master would like to offer this opportunity to any Liveryman who would like to take part.
Please would you let me know as soon as possible if you would like to participate: email the Clerk.
