Simon is one of the Senior Partners of EC Harris, an international practice of built asset consultants employing over 3500 people in 47 offices throughout the world. With a career spanning 39 years (35 with EC Harris) Simon has considerable experience of delivering high level consultancy services to clients in the commercial, retail, leisure, health and infrastructure sectors. He is an accredited Expert and has been appointed as an expert witness on many occasions, including the giving of evidence at an arbitration hearing.
He was born in Surrey in 1948 where he still lives in the village of Chipstead. He joined EC Harris in 1973 as a qualified Quantity Surveyor and was made an Equity Partner in 1979. He is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and was President in 1999/2000.
Simon was admitted to the Livery in 1994 and elected to the Court of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors in 2002. He is married to Yvonne and has three children, who have all left home. When not at work (he has not yet retired!) he enjoys golf, gardening, skiing and walking. In a moment of madness he carried out a freefall tandem sky dive in conjunction with the Red Devils – and his Senior Warden (September 2008) – raising a not insubstantial amount for charity.
