He is Chairman and Chief Executive of Chainbow, a company he founded in 1989, which now specialises in residential asset and estate management.

Subsequently, Roger was part of the RICS Transparency Working Group (TWG), which examined property professionals' transparency in charging fees and commissions as well as the Department of Communities and Local Government's Regulation of Managing Agents Task Force, commenting on why managing agents should be regulated. Roger is also the former Chairman of Chartered Surveyors Training Trust, the Surveyors' Livery Company Apprenticeship Scheme, which provides opportunities for 16 to 24-year-olds to form a career in the property industry.

Roger lives with his partner Roberta and has two daughters from his first marriage, Emma (23) and Becky (21), who graduated from University and College respectively and are currently in the workforce.
