Educated at the Nautical College Pangbourne, Laurence joined the profession in Birmingham in 1968, undertaking his professional education with the College of Estate Management. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1975 and moved to London in 1981.

Laurence joined Rogers Chapman in 1985 where he was managing partner between 1996 and 2003. In 2006 Rogers Chapman was acquired by international real estate advisers Jones Lang LaSalle where Laurence is a Senior Director. He is based at the firm’s UK headquarters in London where he specialises in advising corporate organisations on commercial real estate strategically and on specific projects. His clients include many major corporate companies as well as government departments.

Laurence has sat on a number of College of Estate Management research panels and has several charitable interests. He is currently a Trustee of the Guy Bigwood Award which promotes education in surveying and land management.

He was admitted to the Chartered Surveyors’ Company in 1991 and elected on the Court in 2000. Laurence lives in Barnes, south west London and is married to Clare. They have a daughter and son, Lucy and James. His interests outside his professional and charitable spheres include tennis, skiing, theatre and classical and modern music.
