The Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor in the heart of the City of London, was the magnificent venue for the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors to dine on Monday 24th July in the presence of the Lord Mayor David Brewer, his Sheriffs, five Masters of other Livery Companies and over 300 Liverymen and their family and friends.
This very special dinner is one of the largest the Company has ever organised in its nearly thirty years and was a particular opportunity for families to be together and to take part in a very formal and traditional dinner. A Guard of Honour provided by members of 135 Independent Geographic Squadron RE(V) which is closely associated to the Company, welcomed everyone who were greeted by the Master, Brian Lamden, and his Wardens and their partners. Dinner was in the splendour of the Egyptian Room, serenaded by the band of the Blues and Royals and was followed by speeches from the Master, the Senior Warden, the Lord Mayor and John Watson the former Yorkshire MP.
The Master also presented the Lord Mayor with a donation of £5000 to his special appeal, Treloar Trust which helps young people with disabilities. The Company is an active supporter of other charitable and educational initiatives, many of which share a close link with the City of London.
