Mark Larard writes:
I attended a 'City Briefing' last night at the Innholders Hall, which I found extremely interesting.
The briefings are administered by the Wax Chandlers, on behalf of the London Corporation Livery Committee. The cost was a nominal £10, for which we received a very thorough brief on the City Corporation, and on its relationship with the Livery Movement. The presentations lasted about 2 hours (including questions), and there was wine and canapés available too.
The next City Briefings are on 13 October and 10 November 2010.
There were perhaps 50 attendees, and the presenters asked that we flag these briefings to our Companies, as they have the capacity to host more attendees.
