Through the Chartered Surveyors’ Training Trust (CSTT), the Company became a leading provider of apprenticeships into the surveying profession. The CSTT started life in 1984 as a training scheme to help tackle high youth unemployment and is now an independent charity.

Working closely with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and representatives of employers, the CSTT was able to design new apprenticeship schemes and managed the increase in demand from employers for these programmes thanks to generous funding by the Company.

In response to changed operational requirements by Government, CSTT transferred its apprenticeship management activities to its partner the University College of Estate Management (UCEM) at the end of 2017. CSTT is now able to offer grants to support apprentices in need and is currently working on other proposals to help disadvantaged young people enter the profession.
